Community Health Center La Clinica’s “Great Pop-Off!"

La Clinica has your attention now! What is this you asked? This is a fund raiser created to raise funds through the Benton & Franklin United Way campaign.

Each year, our United Way Chairperson (Cynthia McCready) works to get prizes donated from caring organizations in our community and pre-sells tickets for $5 each.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2005, the Benton & Franklin United Way campaign helpers will assist us at the La Clinica Pasco site and together we blow-up balloons until our conference room is filled with them! When the room is ready, employees start lining up to pick out their balloons—each ticket purchased is redeemed for one balloon, and each balloon has a piece of paper in it that may entitle them to a prize!

All funds raised through this event are donated back to La Clinica, and used to provide assistance to needy families without health insurance.

On behalf of the all La Clinica staff in our Pasco, Kennewick, and Basin City sites, we wish to thank the following businesses for supporting our efforts.

Did you know that in 2004 Community Health Center La Clinica served over 10,300 uninsured patients in Benton and Franklin counties?

The list of prizes donated so far includes:

1. $10.00 gift certificate from Pasco Yokes.
2. A “Nemo” piñata.
3. Wildhorse Resort & Casino in Pendleton, Oregon donated a one night stay with 2 rounds of 18-hole golf, 2 passes for the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, and a Fun Book full of free and discounted prizes.
4. Safeguard Business Systems in Pasco donated a $25.00 gift certificate to the Olive Garden.
5. 2 Regal movie tickets donated by Lourdes Medical Center.
6. Gotta Getta Gund stuffed animal, and a $20.00 gift certificate was donated by Just Roses--located in Pasco and Kennewick.
7. Pasco Best Western (check out their new facility with an indoor pool) donated a one night stay.
8. La Clinica management donated one (1) day of vacation to a lucky employee!
9. $25.00 gift certificate to the Outback donated by Safeguard Business Systems in Pasco. (You rock Dave)
10. Pasco Les Schwab has donated two (2) road-side emergency kits.
11. Just Roses does it again for us with another $20.00 gift certificate.
12. Fiesta Foods in Pasco comes through for us with a portable barbeque grill which runs on propane or batteries. Gracias.
13. Pasco Red Lion gives us a roar of a gift with a $50.00 gift certificate to the Bin #20 Wine Bar and restaurant!
14. $25.00 gift certificate from Home Depot.
15. Smitty’s Conoco of Pasco donates a $25.00 gift certificate to help us recover from those high gas prices.
16. $100.00 gift certificate to Nouveau Spa (for some special pampering), donated by the Pasco Medicine Shoppe.
17. Circuit City came through for us with a professional poker set with carrying case and a Texas Hold Em’ collector set, valued at $70.00.
18. Simon Columbia Center Mall donated 2 beauty spa sets.
19. Staples donated “The Apprentice Desk Organizer.” Save space, time and money!
20. Tri-City Court Club has donated a 2 month family membership.
21. Pik A Pop in Pasco has donated 5 lattes and/or espresso coffee drinks. What a neighbor, thanks Pik A Pop!
22. Fiesta Restaurant donated two $15.00 gift certificates.
23. United Way donated three water bottles.
